Creating a ‘one Weatherbys’ brand online.

The brief...

Established in 1770 the Weatherbys brand has grown across many diverse sectors over this period. As well as providing central administration services for British horse racing and registering all thoroughbred horses in Britain and Ireland, the company provide many different services to racecourses, owners, trainers, breeders and others interested in the sport. They have created Weatherbys Bank, offering everything expected from a modern financial services company and, in Ireland, have one of Europe’s premier DNA and genomic testing laboratories. In all of this there was a need to re-imagine the web estate and present this business diversity in a cohesive and unified manner under the single Weatherbys brand. The site needed to be responsive to create an outstanding user experience across all existing devices and ones yet to be released.

What we did...

We spent a lot of time with the client understanding their vision for the project and engaged several stake holders from within the horse racing and private banking teams to gather as much information and feedback as possible. From this we built the new information architecture of the website and established key user journeys. We then began to start producing wireframes and creative concepts to determine how to tackle creating a ‘one Weatherbys’ brand. We completely rebranded and rebuilt the new website in Kentico in just 9 weeks of development, Weatherbys now have an engaging and intuitive website with a modernised design that clearly promotes their unique services. We used Scrum and Agile to be as lean as possible with our requirements on this project and ensured we delivered an MVP (Minimum Viable Product) in the tight time-frame.
