Co-owned by the government and Capita, we helped AXELOS embrace digital to improve user experiences.

The brief...

AXELOS is a joint venture company, created by the Cabinet Office on behalf of Her Majesty’s Government (HMG) in the United Kingdom and Capita plc to run the Global Best Practice portfolio. It boasts an already enviable track record and an unmatched portfolio of products, including ITIL®, PRINCE2®, and RESILIATM.

AXELOS wanted to be accessible across a range of platforms and devices whilst simultaneously consolidating 1000+ pages of content from nine separate product websites that were on two CMS’s into a single site of approximately 250 pages. The belief was that this would dramatically improve the user journey.

They also wanted to dramatically improve the delivery of content on their website, implement Smart Search functionality and have detailed reporting available in order to measure ROI.

What we did...

The new site needed to be accessible across all devices so we used Responsive Web Design, allowing the design to adapt from small mobile devices to large desktop screens.

With a move from nine separate product websites to just one Kentico website, it was important to give content editors the ability to style pages to match a products layout guide. Using custom document types they are now able to easily create new pages themselves without needing to be concerned about styling. 

We used a sophisticated tagging system to help Smart Search functionality be possible. Users can now search all website content as well as PDFs and White Papers in just one click.

The website was to be launched in over 180 countries so utilised Kentico's localisation module, allowing content editors to customise copy into the relevant language for the localised site. 

We also installed log in functionality as different content is accessible or restricted for different users.

The results...

AXELOS saw the benefits of embracing digital immediately. Such was the success of the initial release of their new website, we have worked with AXELOS on a number of subsequent projects to broaden their digital offering.
